TREE OF LIFE PAIRS WITH WVU TO PRESENT A MEMORABLE SPECIAL CONCERT
Tree of Life will be hosting a special concert given by WVU Division of Music faculty members Andrew Kohn, double bass, Robert Thieme, piano, Francesca Arnone, flute, and Andrea Priester Houde, viola, with Community Arts Program faculty member Catharine Thieme, mezzo-soprano.
The concert will be held on on Tuesday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m.
It features a large and dramatic song cycle, Poems from the Holocaust, by Richmond composer Allan Blank, which includes three poems written by children interred in Terezin prison camp and two additional poetic reflections on the holocaust.
The program also includes the Concertino for flute, viola, and bass, composed by Ervin Schulhoff, a Czech composer who died in the Wülzburg prison camp..
